Hi everyone,
I've never posted before so firstly 'hi'
Not sure if this has been posted elsewhere
I'm a massive Wicked fan and I've just found out from my friend (also big fan) that there is going to be a 3 day 'unofficial' convention in the summer run by Starfury! My friend has been on lots of the Starfury conventions before so regularly checks the site and saw this 'Emerald City' convention. There aren't any confirmed guests as yet, it just says to keep checking back but I'm sure they will get some great guests as for the other conventions they get some big names. It is the three days before I go on holiday and I'm flying out of Heathrow so it is perfect. Can't wait!
Not really sure if I'm posting this in the right section but hey, here's the link!

No offense, but I would be VERY, VERY dubious about giving away that much money/personal details to something unofficial, not affiliated with the show and that doesn't say that much about themselves.
Besides, I really don't see the point in paying for something that is done every year, directly by the show, and which is for free. Wicked Day isn't that far away, another 6months is all.
NOTE TO ALL: PLEASE BE VERY VIGILANT AND USE YOUR DISCRETION! THIS EVENT IS IN NO WAY AFFILIATED WITH OR CONNECTED WITH THE SHOW, OR WICKEDUK.CO.UK.
P.S. Welcome Helen!!! _________________ You spam you DIE

Thanks for the welcome ElphieFabalaFae
There is no doubt that the promoter, Starfury, is going to have to advertise this one really well and get some great guests in order to compete on any level with the free Wicked Day. They have got a hard task ahead of them as, like you've said, it is unofficial and fans will naturally be suspicious of this.
I completely agree with your words of caution to members when dealing with a company that you don't know. I'm not trying to get people to book, I have nothing to prove and am no way affiliated with Starfury! I just know that the company is legit because my friend has attended 4 of their conventions (L word ones) so I was excited by the news. I am simply passing on information that I have found out. I will be interested to find out which guests confirm and look forward to seeing the way they advertise this.
Thanks,
Helen x |
